I recently received the announcement from the Drum Pad. Looking forward to making the Wackermann show (I LOVE hearing a lot of notes, particularly when they all mean something). Can't make the Todd clinic though. Worked with a jobbing band that Todd played with for a while. "Todd played it like this. Todd played it like that." I said, "why don't you just hire Todd if you're so unhappy?" They said they couldn't afford him any more. When I quit it was, "Oh you can't go, we'll never be able to replace YOU." I'm sure the next guy was great but probably had to put up with, "Gary played it like this, Gary did it like that." That's how these guys were when anyone left the band and a new face arrived. Any one else ever have to suffer through that? I prefer being hired for being me than to fill a void in someone's imagination (admittedly, Todd WAS a big void to fill, however).
Also in that announcement; Steve Smith & V.I. @ Martyrs 11/27 & 11/28. Be there or be square.
Ain't it cool that you can see such kick ass shows in the Chi area and get in for less than 20 clams and a 2 drink minimum (free parking too)? We live in the greatest town.
Oh, yeah, the Drum Pad, Midwest Percussion and the Drum Shop in Wheeling (its actual name escapes me at the moment, you all know the guy that makes Bison snares). Are we in Heaven?
